Northest Part of Japan: Wakkanai
Wakkanai is one of the city which located on northern part of Japan. Recently I had been there to see what is inside of the city. Its actually nice place but still undeveloped. Many store is still close during lunch time and not so many people outside (maybe because I go there during spring, better to go summer). But, the bus in this city is convenient. You can go to all tourist site easily. They also have the bus to the Ferry Terminal if you want to cross to Rusia or go to another island. I highly recommend this city to go only once (if I will go there again maybe only just for pass it before I go to another city).
The train station is like the center of this city. Many good hotels are available near it. The Wakkanai Park is can be walked from the train station.
There is a monument that showing the point of the northern part of Japan in this city. You need to take a bus by around one hour with price more that 1000 yen.
The shopping street is not well developed. The Rusia culture is giving some influence in this city. I also saw some foreign people hang around the city.
In conclusion, it was a nice place to visit. Better go with your family and enjoy the nice sun set.
See ya!
